Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris sought to remind us on X Sunday of trouble ahead: “Donald Trump Vows to Be a Dictator on Day One.” She accompanied that ominous warning with the assertion “We won’t let him” over a spooky photo of her opponent in black.
The candidate who wants to “bring us together,” or her handlers, were selling the usual political snake oil, misleading voters by deliberately ignoring Mr. Trump had tongue in cheek when he said he would be a one-day dictator. Anyone with an IQ in the proverbial triple digits knew he was joking to highlight the egregious executive orders made by his predecessor, Joe Biden, on day one. Those orders had obviously disastrous consequences that Trump intended to reverse.
This is what the Dems and their media allies almost always do with Trump, pretend to take his obvious witticisms, clever or not, at face value and turn them against him for a hopefully gullible public.
Republicans sometimes do similar but not nearly as often as the Democrats who, by design, never say much, especially about their policies that much of the public opposes, if we are to believe the polls.
In this case, however, the accusation, though the most routine smear, is significant in a larger context.
Just who is in charge here and why?
Horrifically for the world, Biden’s day one executive decisions included extensively weakening Trump’s sanctions on Iran and, by shutting a key oil pipeline, opening the natural gas spigot for Russia to an energy-starved Europe. This enriched both countries, enabling them to wage wars they were unable to finance previously. The Russians attacked Ukraine and Iran—via their murderous cutouts Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis, among others—went after Israel, putatively in favor of the Palestinians who the mullahs are perfectly happy to see die by the thousands for their own hegemonic goals.
These orders were all made by Biden in the name of a chimera termed “renewable energy.” Renewable to whom? The Germans learned what happens when you worship that god—economic armageddon for your country and its citizens. The Germans are backing off that quickly.
Biden’s decisions, whatever their provenance and however dictated, are close to the greatest foreign policy blunder in American history, if not the greatest. The results are ongoing and threaten World War III.
Kamala Harris was his loyal lieutenant in this mindlessness that has resulted in so many deaths and continues to do so. Democrat politicians and their supposed wise men like strategist James Carville and entertainer Bill Maher followed along unquestioningly (except for the tiniest blips of criticism to validate their intellectual bona fides) like smiling merry-go-round ponies. Now, they make little of even the most obviously destructive policies like taxing unrealized gains or putting price controls on grocery stores that already struggle to stay open on minimal profit margins.
Since the Democrats apparently have no genuine policies worth supporting of their own, the “Trump as dictator” meme has to suffice. Apparently something close to that is their strategy for the forthcoming debate. Better not rely on Kamala for substantive ideas because they won’t be hers and she has never demonstrated the skills to defend them.
They belong to the man who has been behind the Democrat Party for years and has changed it, perhaps unalterably, the man who is the true, though somewhat covert, dictator.
He is the man who actually told us he is, in effect, a dictator, who opined publicly that he preferred to govern from the basement. At the very least, he has the instincts of one.
After four terms of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, incomplete as they were, Congress decided on limiting presidents to serving two terms. Enough was enough. (It should be for most of Washington, but that’s for another discussion.)
This did not mean much to Barack H. Obama because of his preference for ruling from the aforementioned basement, whether it’s in Martha’s Vineyard, Hawaii or DC’s posh Kalorama neighborhood.
He had already governed twice from the White House and once from the basements under Mr. Biden, now potentially two more times during Harris administrations. That would make twenty years at the helm, covertly and not, interrupted only by four years of Trump. For comparison sake, Il Duce (Mussolini) only managed eighteen (1925-1943) as full-on dictator of Italy. Most last for less.
So it is important to know what this man, who could be in control of our country for decades, actually wants.
Again, he has told us himself. “Elections have consequences,” he has said. And the primary consequence he wants, as he stated in 2008 when he was first nominated, is the “fundamental transformation” of America.
To his credit, but not so much to ours, he has achieved that to a great degree.
The man is truly a creature of the globalist left who would be happy in a one-party state of citizens who abandoned “their guns and religion.” Most of our educational system, media and entertainment are already geared in his direction. This has given great pleasure to Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, for the first time in years fully united against us. Many wonder if Western Civilization will survive. Obama, who apologized for us, clearly is no fan.
Are we to believe he will not have extraordinary influence over Ms. Harris and her creepy Vice-President as his desired transformation continues? Superficially, we may hear of conflicts. That’s part of the game. But deep down we will know who is calling the necessary shots when push comes to the proverbial shove, who is the real dictator. And it’s not Donald Trump.

SINCERE AFTERTHOUGHT: To all who have signed up for this Substack, a terrific Labor Day from Sheryl and me to you and your families! (And to those who haven’t—get with it. Or, as we used to say, “Be there or be square.”)
Democrats are trying to gaslight the American people into thinking that Trump doesn't have a track record as president from which we can evaluate his probable performance if re-elected. Therefore, their efforts to redefine him as an imminent dictator shouldn't be effective outside of their own sheeple. It's a asinine strategy, but one which might work on an electorate with a room-temperature, aggregate political I.Q.
Firstly, you are overestimating the requirement of IQ to understand that Trump’s witticisms are merely part of his persona and are nothing more than exaggerations and, as you say “funny” quips. But they do open him up to the opponents use of sound bites to attack him. With 90%+ of media being controlled by his opposition, the dialog is controlled and supported. The influence, hell the governance of Obama is obvious as he did not pack up and leave DC after his terms (I believe that is a first for modern day if not all prior presidents) and Biden basically replicated his former administration - yes, the same incompetent buffoons. You can bet that whatever the Dems are accusing Trump of is exactly what they are doing.
