Another great piece Roger. I don't remember anything I've ever read of yours that wasn't, come to think of it. One thing though. We can't afford to take our foot off the gas. There is still big money out there like Soros, Gates, Schwab, Bezos, et al, who are not happy with how this turned out and are not likely to slink away. God has heard our prayers but He will expect more than good economic policy out of the conservative movement, namely, moral policy like abolishment of same sex marriage and curtailment of normalizing sexual perversions, (sex outside the bonds of marriage between a husband and wife), plus the protection of wombed children. Heavy topics I know but turning a blind eye to these issues will not curry His favor for our nation as we've seen already in recent decades..
Those big money guys cannot compete with our God. Look at all the untold millions that they threw at their leftwing nuts. I agree that the most dangerous to our Republic is George Soros, and his marxist son, Alexander. After that, the Schwabs, and Gates'. Until we can het their money out of our politics, we have to be extremely vigilant. Wish we could send him back to Hungary! Oh wait, they don't want him either.
From your lips to God's ears. I sure hope this is how it really is right now. The left has caused us enough pain for this decade. Ironic they should be exposed for exercising the privilege they have felt since Obama was elected. Biden, Harris and Trump were the perfect storm for moving the political needle in America. The same movement is arriving elsewhere on the planet. The Global Economic Forum needs to disband or find a new cause.
Amen. One can hope that this (and other elections this year) will cripple the WEF and the poisonous Woke ideology and politics of division as initiated and sustained by Obama.
But this will require us to continue to fight. There is FAR too much money at stake in the Left wing takeover of institutions and politics for them to either engage in self reflection or to retreat.
Did you hear about the Tik Tokker who announced that, because of Trump's win, he was leaving the US and moving to Hawaii? Sounds about right. You can't make this stuff up. ;-)
Yes, sir… Mr. Simon! Excellent, and you bring up a point of interest. Fleetwood Mac, and it deals with Mick himself. All thru this age of oz we have endured, the elites have passed the baton back and forth as if it was a symbol of futuristic brilliance. Us rough hands people, though, have continued to plod along in our daily lives trying to make the necessary adjustments to survive. We find ourselves playing the game a lot like Mick always played the drums, uncomplicated, but driving forward with a rhythmic beat that begs for attention and simplicity. It defines our way of life.
First, blessings to all our Veterans and their families for Vet's Day tomorrow!! Coming from a Naval and USCG family my sincerest thanks for your service, dedication and commitment to our great country!! My vote for Trump was partly due to ALL of YOU and the love Trump shares for our military.
Roger, as I have professed to you before, I am now considering rethinking my 'fatalist' standing to one of now becoming cautiously optimistic. I thought the pseudo-intellectual left-wing lemming 'fix' was in with the election (I was a closet 'reverse psychology' advocate I admit!) I was on the edge of my recliner chair until the final bell (God willing) rung for Trump! I prayed for divine intervention and now I pray for God to watch over Trump, his family, his administration and for the healing of our country resulting from the damage perpetrated on our society not only by the left, but by the media who should be ashamed for their conduct.
The reason there are no "Joe Rogan's" for the left, is because the Left decimated everybody and anybody in their party, who were individuals. The Left of today, is far more "collectivist" than ever in our nation's history (OK, 1930s might have competed).
Examples of individuals that the left destroyed:
Bernie Sanders: two times in cheated primaries;
Andrew Cuomo: hilariously, he and only he would have had any chance against Trump;
...there are many...
In the end, was Joe Biden the closest they'd allow...until they didn't? Who remains. Who will lead them? Even their leaders await their commands.
The Democrats now have a clear and visible record of attacking their own. Have a look.
When a group expects us to agree with opinions, but cannot agree or acknowledge facts, we know they are deeply LEFTIST (sycophantic, prone to sucking up). They agree with other because it makes them feel socially secure (think "peer pressure".
This is how the Left dies. It's as normal as the weather patterns (which they also have syco'd out of their perception).
Seems that, because normal working people are much less prone to believe nonsense, the Democrats abandoned them, too!
Populism seems to seek strong individual leaders. Populism often rises at the same time that some form of "groupthink"/sycophancy overtakes a group. Emperor's New Clothes.
Think "Lions and Hyenas". Seems quite similar to what we just watched.
They had Al Franken for a while who was supposed to challenge Rush Limbaugh. He was a very smart guy and funny but politically unpalatable. The problem with the left is the lack of depth of their ideology, which is mostly based on whining. Even Franken knew it when he used to satirize what became the woke, self-help left with his Stuart Smalley character. SNL also used to satirize the left with their Doug and Wendy Whiner characters.
Roger wrote: "We are headed for a rather libertarian future that has fascinating similarities to our constitutional past." That's my take. Trump is a working libertarian. He doesn't sit at home in his study reading books or going to meaningless conventions where the candidate nominated has no chance of winning. He hits the leviathan state with left hooks and right crosses. That's why he loves Elon, a visceral libertarian, so much.
Trump has single-handedly done away with the Bush dynasty, the Clinton dynasty, the Obama/Biden dynasty and the Cheney dynasty. Early on, I never liked him. When he first ran for office I said the only people who would vote for him were those who believed professional wrestling was real. His speeches are interminable, but he does well in interviews and town halls. But now I celebrate hime because he has revitalized the political right in this country like no one has since Reagan. The left, in their extreme reaction to him exposed who they really are, which is something not unlike the Stasi when their realm is invaded.
I too am on the ‘great article’ bandwagon (Make Journalism Great Again). You touched on so many good points. Today’s labels are meaningless; because like Carville, they are stuck in a time wrap. Neither I (or Joe Rogan) are no more Republicans than we are Democrats, left or right. About the only appropriate labels are individuals or the blob. Loved the “well, we know the beginning, but let’s leave that alone’.. We will see how ‘resistant’ these governors are when the money starts drying up. For those of us old enough to remember, this is why the left side (socialism/communism) of the spectrum always fails- all their faith & hope is in the effect not the cause (the ultimate golden calf). As the old saying goes, you are known by the company you keep. Trump, just by being Trump, has assembled one of the most eclectic group of people we have seen since the founding fathers. They are united not in their narratives but in their spirit. Narratives are finite, spirit is infinite.
Thank you for that, Bruce. I resigned a few months ago from the Epoch Times to start this Substack with my wife Sheryl Longin. Epoch did not give me my newsletter list that was quite extensive. So we were starting from a low number and appreciate any help on growing subscribers. I'm glad to see that it has been happening and am especially grateful to all those who pass the word.
I really like your model of storytelling, culture, and politics. I’d love to hear more Hollywood anecdotes and new experiences in Tennessee. You folks remind me of Mark Stein’s poly-erudition.
Sorry you lost your list. That’s really irritating. But make sure saying so doesn’t trigger a non-disclosure clause. I was asked by the Trump campaign to run District 9, Georgia, but I was still writing regularly then, and I could be sued for saying anything negative about Trump, the campaign, or his restaurants and hotels. The latter made me laugh — but these non-disclosures have become an arms race.
Luckily, the Kochs forgot to get me to sign one, so I can tell every sleazy thing I saw in Florida. Bunch of Bushers getting loaded in the pool, openly mocking the disgusting TEA Party they were grossly using, and calling them rubes and suckers.
They served lawsuits to relatively poor and naive workers who even mildly expressed concern about their tactics. Ugly.
And that’s the point of substack. No intermediaries. The civility has to come from us, not threats of lawfare nor bureaucratic institutional control.
I had the privilege of working for the Fox-Genoveses for the last seven years she was alive. We went to the St. George Tucker Society meetings, other elite conservative academic events (I am a WWI-WWII movements and metaphysical poetry and modern criminal reform specialist, so I would carry crib cards about the Civil War and was always terrified to be asked about artillery), and it was the education of a lifetime. So brilliant, so congenial, so untrammeled. So unafraid, yet fond. So decent to each other.
You answered your own question as well as any of us could. (Intentionally?)
There are zero podcasters with the acerbic wit, rapid-fire intellect and plain common sense as Rogan. Plus, he's just likeable. And he has rhythm; he can flow with any guest and I'd have enjoyed him playing word sald with Kama Kameleon.
The Progressive Marxist Party (not your grandfather's left) is on life support. Someone called for reimagining the Democratic Party. I imagine they'll need it: desperately.
People have become aware of the Democrat Theology during biden/harris's term in DC. Everyone's pocket book has been Empty Long Enough and We Are Tired of It! Trump will overcome this problem if the House and Senate cooperate. Drill Baby Drill! Build the Wall and Open the Keystone Pipeline!
Good un! However as Glenn R. often notes; don't get cocky, 'cause as he never said to my knowledge, it ain't over 'till the fat lady sings.
I like; "We are headed for a rather libertarian future that has fascinating similarities to our constitutional past. ", such seems surprisingly possible.
I find as I approach elderlyness (Ah to be 85 again!) I lean toward libertarianism, or actually far past such deep into anarcho-capitalism, but I see such most effective as parallel to whatever the existing system politic rather than the law(lessness) of the land.
I suspect a libertarian society would quickly devolve to a rule by Blackrock.
Again Roger, good un! I hope that libertarian future ends up very similar to, hard to distinguish from, our constitutional past.
“Flier” has already written what I was going to write—I just hope G-d’s listening!, However, I think what the WEF needs to do is pay a punishment for their role in trying to destroy our country and for trying to rule the world! Thanks for another superior piece of journalism —-like we read in the “olden days.”

Let's start with The Ten Commandments back in courtrooms and capitals.
I don't think this is the right strategy. I am religious, but this is the wrong strategy

We need a forensic audit on Obama.. with public exposure.. Trumps private details get leaked?.. well lets expose The Kenyan.

Grate one, Roger!
Great article that I will share with as many people as possible.

Excellent discourse, thank you for your faithful reporting in these days of needful dire correction.
