By the way, Roger, I want to thank you. Years ago, you suggested that I start writing about cars for Pajamas Media. Since then, I've managed to create an ongoing side gig as a freelance automotive writer. I'm not as good as my friend and colleague, Jack Baruth, who is the best there is at that task today, but I think I do a workmanlike, journeyman's job. You can see my latest work here (constructive criticism always welcome): https://www.hagerty.com/media/author/rschreiber/

I cannot resist asking if the nanny's child is part of their wonderful blended family. Or, if she did not engage in the usual leftist sacrament, are they emulating Hunter Biden.

She had a miscarriage, according to a report I just saw on a Tucker Carlson interview. There's apparently a cloud over that, but, you know, the media...

Blessed Rosh Hashanah to the two of you and thank you for your thoughts on important current events.

Wishing you a blessed Rosh Hashanah! Unfortunately, our MSM will do everything possible to kill the Emhoff revelations and will continue the smoke and mirrors as evidenced by the CBS subterfuge.

Soon our streaming service will begin. But I had to read your editorial before we join our congregation. Mr. Emhoff is definitely a man with a very disturbing background, especially when it comes to his relationships with women. But then his spouse has an equally disturbing background with male relationships. So one can assume their relationship works because they know what each of them has done in the past. As for CBS, when they cancelled Blue Bloods, a blockbuster superior drama acted and scripted by exceptional talent and very popular still among tv viewers, my husband said he will not watch another CBS show because their avid dislike of any conservative leaning, non biased show is abhorrent. I am giving fair warning: anyone acting in tv shows on CBS please don’t share your political views because if my husband finds out you support woke, extreme political issues, I will not be able to watch your shows. 😱

They're just another Billary; marriage of political convenience. As for mainstream programming, we went Cold Turkey on that over a decade ago. Prefer to watch reruns of Little House and such.

Kamala approves of her husband's abuse of women. She has abused her staff and abased herself in her ambitious rise. Even now she seconds the beating of female athletes by men. As for CBS--Dan Rather floated a forged email to smear George W. Bush. Chris Wallace used one hundred edits to smear Chris Ruddy who questioned Vince Foster's prelude to the Jeffrey Epstein Gambit. Karma or the moral scales will apply justice where required. With the aid of your stuxnet-subtle satire.

So I read the NR article & as usual I am left scratching my head over the issue of anti-semitism & it isn’t because I don’t think it exists. Decades ago (60s) my dad, a white working man, felt compelled to join the civil rights movement & told me of an occasion he had to speak to a group of black men about white men having their foot on the black man’s neck. He told them if they didn’t like it, just stand up. I don’t know who this Coates is & he could fall off the face of the planet for all I care, but in all honesty the real crime (?) here is the reporter who capitulated & apologize (for what, doing his job?). As someone for whom the Holocaust was pretty much a current event, there were 2 lingering questions, how could the Germans do what they did & how did the Jews allow it to be done? I think a guy wrote a book on the Holocaust with the title “How do you kill 11 million people?” - How do you get them to willing pack up & get on the trains & walk into the gas chambers. How or why any Jew is voting democrat is beyond me & yet I suspect when all is said and done, the majority of them will (aka Emhoff & Schumer). When Obama & Harris & the Islamist Democrat party repeat history, don’t come crying ‘Never Again’.

Election down to what the Democratic field operation does that night. They fear firing and perhaps jail, will they risk war to avoid? War is vague concept.

It doesn’t help they appear at present leaderless. As their opponents MAGA and the rest are reactive and playing by the rules, the decision rests in Dem field operatives trembling hands.

Roger,

I know you've watched the fake news most of your life, as did I until I started working for a response agency and saw first-hand how twisted and intentionally misleading they all are. My question becomes; how can any intelligent, self-titled, critical-thinking person bear to do so any longer?

Forewarned is forewarned? It's the only excuse I can come up with.

Real eyes realize real lies.

The scales have fallen from mine.

Maybe Kamala and Emhoff met in a Gentleman's Club. She was dancing under the table, of course.

Expand full comment

There is nothing that sleazy Emhoff has done that Kamala has not ALREADY done in her own inimitable way. Although she espouses family values and the importance of the family, she was busy being the MISTRESS of a husband of a "family man". Such hypocrisy

My 16 year old Protestant great-grandmother left the farm in Michigan one night, dressed in her best, to sneak into town and see the young male lead in the travelling road show. Not many weeks later they ran away together, crossed the border into Canada and got married. He was handsome, a man of the world in her eyes, charming and (drum roll...) a Jew. Fast forward to my grandmother (the only child of that union which at the turn of the last century ended in divorce), my father, me, and my three siblings. Are we "Jewish"? No. Do we cherish that line of our family and the undeniable blessings and strengths of that culture? A resounding YES. I don't care what religion Emhoff is, he is, in my view, disgusting. As for his wife who apparently shares his level of (or lack of) personal morality/integrity/loyalty, they are a match. My youngest brother, known as "The Rabbi" in his administrative role at an Eastern university aways says...."Like attracts Like, Dirt clings to Dirt". Happy Rosh Hashanah!!

How do you know you are not Jewish? The idea that Jewishness comes through matrilineal descent is not universally accepted. For instance, Ethiopian and Cochin Jews trace their own lines via patrilineal descent, not matrilineal descent. Matrilineal descent is a post-Christian invention. So, according to the two groups named above, you ARE a Jew.

In fact, absolutely no one knows who is Jewish and who isn't. There is no agreed on definition. The term is thrown around as if it meant something, but when pressed, no one can tell you what it means. There is no central authority that can adjudicate the issue.

As for "that culture", which one would that be? Sephardic, Mizhraic and Ashkenazi Jews are not one ethnic group, they are several ethnic groups. And that isn't even counting Indian Jews, South African Jews, Ethiopian Jews, etc. They don't have a shared history and heritage. Ethiopian Jews don't even recognize the authority of rabbis or the Talmud. There is no single shared Jewish culture. It doesn't exist. People talk as if it did, but it simply isn't there.
