How refreshing to hear my own thoughts written down in another of your superior opinion pieces!! As a former high school teacher of debate, I would like to clarify one thing: what we witnessed on the evening of September 10th was not a debate. Real debates do not allow for moderators to show their bias toward either of the sides that are supposedly debating each other. In my humble opinion, that is exactly what is wrong with people who reporter news or moderate debates today; they think they can interject their personal opinions during a debate or a non-opinion article. And this is why most reporters aren’t qualified to moderate any debate. If one looks up the definition of ‘moderate,’ one would find that from the Latin “moderatus” means “within bounds, observing moderation" and figuratively it means “modest, restrained.” There certainly was no restraint shown on the part of David Muir when President Trump answered Muir’s attack and replied that he was being sarcastic about a comment he made about the 2020 election loss. Of course it’s true that Trump was under a judge’s gag order when he made the sarcastic remark. It was unseemly and wrong for that “moderater” to insert his bias in this way.

Many thanks for the comment. I didn’t think it would be a debate.

Fortunately, American voters saw through ABC moderators Marxist-bias charade, but especially moderate Dems and Independents. For, the Dem leftists/Marxists, they are so biased, ignorant and godless, well….nothing can save them except both a study of the USSR and macro-economics, and a Jesus moment to help them see the Light.

October 1st is the VP debate on CBS. Moderators are Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan. Do you think it will be any different than the NBC President debate? I don't. I don't understand why the GOP agrees to do these without at least one moderator who isn't in the tank for the Dems.

Agreed about CBS versus ABC and why the GOP doesn't push back more. But I suspect Vance will keep ego and mouth in check and basically filet Waltz.

I highly recommend watching the "Ruthless" podcast from 9/11. They dissect the debate cleverly and with precision, lancing the idiocies of David "Hairdo" Muir and Lindsey Davis.

It is also worth noting that despite crowing from the Left and MSM, it appears that Kamala did NOT better define herself. Her sneering and lack of persuasive argument that she won't continue the last 4 years' disastrous border, economic, energy and foreign policies if she is elected prompted 6 of 10 undecided voters to prefer Trump.

Doesn't sound like winning for her to me.

Ruthless, agreed, will give you an effective dissection of the debate. And they have fun doing it. If you hate yourself, watch Useful Idiots.

I am currently listening to Ruthless's podcast on Congressional and Senate elections with the heads of the Rep Cong. and Rep Sen. committees. Very enlightening.

Great insights, as usual. I didn't have the stomach to watch the debate, though I did read both the liberal and conservative views. Trump's hyperboles bother me, and Kamala's (really the Democratic Party's blatant BS) is annoying. As the Dem's US border Czar for four years, she misunderstood her mission: Protect our borders, not open them. As the San Francisco DA, she turned a blind eye to the sexual abuse of minors by the Catholic Church. Enough said. I have a great many male and female friends who are better qualified to be the president of the US than our two options.

The “debate” was anything but a debate; ABC and their moderators should be patently ashamed, but of course they are instead patting themselves on the back for a joke well done. Agree with everything you outlined in another great article.

It was an intriguing debate, but was devoid of policy. I call it another "Jerry Springer Show" knock-off: all about personality politics and "fear, uncertainty, and doubt". I expected no different. So, I took a different approach to watching.

"Kammy's Got the Look!"

To be frank, Kammy performed spectacularly. (I didn't say I liked it or not. Just that it was of EMMY WINNING quality.) Respectfully, I've been saying this for years; "she's got the look"...and on Tuesday night, they went ALL OUT to showcase it. Please don't misunderstand my comments to mean that Kammy stood up and clearly articulated policy or exerted her personality to bring us all together, but there was one point where she spoke those words...but, too late based on behaviors. "Kammy's got the look" and her producers executed - seemingly to include the moderators, whether subconsciously or not.

How do we know that Kammy's Producers and Directors "had her back"?

I will leave just one bit of evidence. (We can measure this numerically with pixels.) The default camera angles on both candidates showed the bottom of the microphone stands slanting inward (toward each other at the base of the screens). I didn't detect any variation of the microphone stand screen position for Mr. Trump. The opposite was true for Ms. Harris. When Ms. Harris spoke, the mic was in the default position. However, for some period during Mr. Trump's responses and rebuttals, Ms. Harris' mic stand was seen slanting in the other direction (not toward the center of the frames at the base, but parallel to each other). This exposed some of Ms. Harris' great features and looks, including her smile, bone structure, facial expressions, "emotation", etc. "Kammy's Got the Look!"

Please check me on that.

There's plenty to say....i just wonder if this was a "Santa Claus" moment for Americans. Mommy, does Santa exist? Mommy, do US Presidents exist? This really must stop. It's harmful for our nation. Please, let's stop the infighting and save "Jerry Springer Shows" for entertainment, not for the leadership of our nation. Thank you.

...just wanted to make sure I'm understood. Mr. Trump also performed spectacularly, especially given the huge team-effort, including ABC, to assist and promote Ms. Harris. Mr. Trump's performance was one of "improv". Call him the Jazz Musician of the Jerry Springer Show that ABC produced.

I wasn't joking when I told you I too a different approach to watching the "debate".

When ’debates’ were first proposed, I was astonished that anyone should think them necessary.

Why confer even fleeting legitimacy on either Biden or any of his equally traitorous cohorts?

We’ve seen this disgraceful ambushing scenario play out so often in the past, with the GOPers vowing each time not to fall into the same trap again - yet continuing to do so regardless. Einstein’s definition of madness comes to mind.

A ‘shooting gallery’ is not a debate. Put a stop to them in their current format, and stop legitimizing anti-American filth. While they’re at it, get rid of President Trump’s so-called advisors, who unfailingly sabotage his campaign and the American people. There are so many good people who have proved their support for him and their love of country, that replacing those operating under their own agendas is not a difficult proposition.

I watched The Debacle with Dan Bongino. It was much more fun, entertaining and educational than watching a network.

I LMAO when Trump used Cameluh's words against her - "I'm talking now" and I was delighted when he pointed out to all the libs that she is in power NOW. Rather than her SAYING she will do this or that if elected, she has the power to do it NOW !!!

Unfortunately, the libs are so deeply brainwashed that he needed to repeat those words many more times over the evening but he didn't. I doubt the two times he mentioned it that it was able to sink in to any of the sheeple.

I had to give Cameluh kudos though. She called for EVERYONE to attend a Trump rally! If any of them do, it will only take that ONE exposure to the truth to START to wake them up! Plus, you meet THE NICEST PEOPLE at Trump rallies! That would be something else that would stick with the sheeple - long after leaving the rally.

I was amazed at her ability to string sentences together though. I've NEVER heard her do that before. THEN I found out she was wearing special earrings that were most likely feeding her information!

And she ONLY 'cackled' ONCE! Those earrings must have told her to STOP THAT! lol

I was really ticked at the obvious bias by the 'moderators'. But we all KNEW it was going to happen!

As to boycotting Disney - I've been doing that and encouraging others to do the same ever since that fiasco in Florida! I happy danced when they lost their Reedy Creek special allowances! Talk about LOSING after going woke!!!

I have the commercial-free version of Disney Plus as part of my tv package but I've never even logged in to it!

People I know who still want videos like the Star Wars sagas refuse to give Disney even a penny so they buy the DVDs directly from the producers in China! Disney doesn't see a penny and the videos are outstanding quality!

I 100% agree that Walt AND Roy wouldn't like what's become of his company!

It's sickening!

Good analysis of the debate. In point of fact, everyone (including Trump) knew he was going into the lion's den when he agreed to debate at ABC. Here's an idea: no more debates by ANY conservative politicians on ABC, NBC, or CBS. It's not worth it. Was Mitt Romney better off to have done that debate? I don't think so. The moderators at those networks have only one goal at a political debate: harm the Republican. In the memorable words of the person who still lives in our White House: Just Don't. I sincerely wish American voters had heeded that admonition in the 2020 election.

Thanks for this commentary. Keep up the good work.

The GOP should refuse any moderators from here on in. The VP one should be immediately cancelled unless this demand is satisfied. Any criticism to this demand should rightfully be answered with the point that any top political official, let alone the leader of the free world, should know how to argue their points one on one without requiring a moderator to carry their water, and if they can't should be disqualified from being elected to that position.
