Thank you for giving us the 60 Minutes review - I don't know about most of the viewers of this blog but I have not watched it in over a decade. Their in your face bias borders on the absurd. Nothing much has changed I see. Good luck to Bari on her attempt to dial back the TDS on that show.
I don't watch it much either, Walter, but tuned in because Trump was appearing after another assassination attempt. Maybe I was expecting a little better since Bari Weiss had taken over. But, as Flier noted above, the leopard had not changed its spots.
TDS (Trump derangement syndrome) is a mental illness that generates irrational hatred and ends in self-destructive behavior. Whether it ends in death, incarceration or the end of a career, these people have lost the ability to reason.
TDS may be mental illness, but it is also deliberate Democrat strategy. TDS motivates their voters to show up in special and off-year elections, and will probably work beautifully for them this November.
I used to rail against outlets like the NYTimes and 60 Minutes. I have given that up. My outrage against them does not change them, and it's bad for my blood pressure. So I ignore them.
Oh, I still do the morning puzzles in the Times, and I read enough of a few articles to see that they have, like the proverbial leopard, not changed their spots. They are still tuned to 11 on the one to ten scale of Trump hatred. It is so constant -- and insidious -- that it has become laughable. Do keyboards sneer? At the NYTimes and 60 Minutes I think they do. They, and dozens of other media outlets, are parodies of what a news outlet could be.
A little balance in their approach would be good for their soul and their bottom line. In the meantime I will continue to withhold my eyes and my attention. And to recommend others do likewise.
These outlets have gone from "far left bias" to outright propaganda. Anyone getting their news from CBS or the NY Times is simply not being informed whether about Trump or about the state of Israel or anything else.
While I do not watch that hack of a show 60 Minutes anymore because of its FAR LEFT slant, I did see other outlets also highlight this pathetic segment from this week’s show. Bari Weiss will do little to change the culture within that useless show, JMO. And Nora O’Donnell is the last person that should have conducted the interview as she is the worst of the worst Sunday morning pundits. It is funny to me that “journalists” like her continue to think they are interviewing a typical political dolt and not Trump. Then, they are surprised when he basically uses the old SNL line to respond: “Jane, you ignorant slut;” then tells them why they are ignorant!
Procrustean is a great word but gives 60' far to much credit. Like most of modern legacy media, few watch it; even fewer with any sense. Not a reflection on you, Roger; the guardians of the gate have to watch all manner of aberrations.

The leftwing media certainly is to blame for the violence they incite by agitating their watchers into anything anti Trump. Some young people are socially inept due to solitary gaming as Roger mentioned and have a very narrow worldview derived from headlines in the MSM and blue sky rantings. Democrat politicians add to that agitation and call for strong protests knowing very well that it will turn violent .Then once something happens, they feign sympathy just never regret their rhetoric. O'Donnel wanted to make sure everyone hears the accusations by this shooter. That was her main objective . Just as the Jean Caroll lawsuit was only done to get rapist or sexual molester onto Trump's perceived predator profile .That he was only accused then of defaming her did not register with the TDS crowd. It does unfortunately not appear that Bari Weiss has done anything yet to change the narrative to those shows . Neither MSNow or 60 minutes have changed their approach. It seems that the network calculates internal numbers of active watchers of the TDS fame and will leave all as it is . Weiss appointment might not change anything other than our perception.
Weiss' job is to make a small course correction so the company doesn't get sued, but they still need to make money. There is no market for unbiased news, and a very limited market for right wing news. All the paying customers are on the Left. That is business reality.
A small point but this guy is no teacher in the normal sense didn’t he work for like a prep business? A private company that was like a tutoring business?

Knowing what he knows, I was shocked that Trump went on that show. The man has cojones like none other. Not quite sure why Weiss can’t or won’t just insist 60 Minutes add one, just one, non-sycophant.
